Wx3 Writing Exercise & Inspiration – How To

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Step 1 – Clear your mind. Take a deep breath. Relax.

Step 2 – Open a new Word doc, or Notepad page, or grab a piece of paper & a pen.

Step 3 – Look at the picture for 60 seconds & then write whatever comes to you – dialogue, story, log line, idea, concept, emotion, senses, etc..

When you are done…

Save it and put your writing away. Let it seep, brew, stew, and simmer. Next time you need inspiration or an added boost to your current work – you’ll have a file full of these.

And, it will add to your habit of writing – boom!

My Wx3…

I’m pretty sure one of Jane Austen’s characters are about to walk out and lean on that railing and sigh, thinking about some twisted fate or tormented romantic interlude.

It’s sunset and perhaps a ball is around the corner, musicians tuning their instruments to the backdrop of the fading sun. Giggles of laughter fill the air as girls struggle to best their siblings and friends in their best attire.

Something in me wants there to be some sort of magic there–some hint of fantasy. Fairies? Spells?

Only the ball will tell…
